Generate up to 500 ITF-14 barcodes in a single batch with our free bulk ITF-14 barcode generator. There is no signup, no watermark, and nothing to install — every barcode is created locally in your browser, so your product data is never uploaded to any server. Whether you are labelling corrugated shipping cartons, cases, or pallets, you can paste your GTIN-14 codes, preview print-ready symbols, and download them as PNG, JPG, SVG, PDF, or a single ZIP file in seconds.

What is ITF-14?

ITF-14 is a 14-digit numeric barcode symbology used to identify trade items at the carton and case level — the corrugated shipping boxes that move through warehouses and distribution centres. It is based on Interleaved 2 of 5 (ITF), a compact numeric symbology in which digits are encoded in pairs: the bars carry one digit while the spaces between them carry the next, which keeps symbols short even for long numbers.

The “14” in the name refers to the 14-digit GTIN-14 number it encodes: a leading packaging-level indicator digit, followed by the 12 digits of the inner product’s GTIN, plus a final check digit. The indicator digit tells the supply chain what the carton contains — for example, whether it holds a standard pack quantity or a specific configuration of retail units.

ITF-14 symbols are printed with thick bars and wide spaces, which makes them readable by warehouse scanners from a greater distance — even when printed directly onto rough brown corrugated cardboard, where fine barcode detail would be lost. A heavy printed border known as the bearer bar usually surrounds the symbol; it keeps the print edges even during high-speed printing and reduces the risk of partial misreads.

Because ITF-14 is a GS1 standard, every number must be a genuine GTIN-14 built on your GS1 company prefix. Retailers and logistics partners across the world recognise the symbology, so cartons labelled with valid ITF-14 codes move through automated distribution centres without manual handling. Many businesses generate their ITF-14 carton labels in the same batch run as their Code 128 shipping labels, keeping carton and pallet identification perfectly in sync.

How to generate ITF-14 barcodes in bulk

You can create hundreds of ITF-14 barcodes in four simple steps:

  1. Step 1 – Enter your data. Paste your 14-digit GTIN-14 codes one per line, import a CSV file exported from Excel or Google Sheets, or generate sequential numbers automatically. Our step-by-step Excel and CSV guide shows exactly how to prepare your spreadsheet.
  2. Step 2 – Select ITF-14 as the barcode type. The generator validates each 14-digit code, including the check digit, before encoding it.
  3. Step 3 – Set the size and appearance. ITF-14 is designed to be printed large — increase bar height and width so the symbol stays scannable from a distance on corrugated board.
  4. Step 4 – Generate and download. Click generate to create up to 500 barcodes at once, preview the batch to verify every symbol, then download your files as PNG, JPG, SVG, PDF, or all barcodes together in a ZIP archive.

Frequently asked questions

Is this bulk ITF-14 generator really free?

Yes. You can generate unlimited batches of up to 500 barcodes each with no signup, no watermark, and no hidden charges.

Should I use ITF-14 or Code 128 on my cartons?

Use ITF-14 on corrugated shipping cartons and cases — it is the GS1 standard for that packaging level and its thick bars survive rough cardboard. Use Code 128 for shipping labels, pallet SSCC data (GS1-128), and general logistics labelling.

Do I need a GS1 registration to create ITF-14 barcodes?

Yes. ITF-14 encodes GTIN-14 numbers, which must be built on a genuine GS1 company prefix so your cartons are recognised throughout the supply chain.

How large should I print ITF-14 barcodes?

Print them large — ITF-14 is designed for distance scanning in warehouses. Keep strong dark-on-light contrast, include the bearer bar, and always test-scan a printed sample before a full production run.
